Vegetable market activity

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."

To instill the importance of healthy eating habits and basic life skills, the young learners of Kindergarten of State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt. enthusiastically participated in a fun-filled and interactive Vegetable Market Activity organized within the school premises.

Dressed as little vendors and buyers, the students stepped into the vibrant world of a vegetable market. The event was designed to introduce children to various types of vegetables, their colors, textures, and names in an engaging and hands-on manner. Children were guided on the concept of buying and selling, identification of common vegetables, and the importance of including them in their daily meals.

Teachers took the opportunity to explain different methods of buying — from using real or pretend currency to learning simple bargaining in a playful environment. The little ones confidently identified vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, spinach, cucumbers, and more. Their joyful faces and eager responses reflected how enjoyable learning becomes when done through real-life experiences.

The entire activity aimed to develop communication skills, improve vocabulary, enhance social interaction, and promote team spirit among the students.

The President, Dr. Narotam Singh, the Vice President, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur of Group of State Public Schools along with the Principal Mrs Savina Bahl and Vice Principal Mrs Gagandeep Kaur Khaira said that they strongly believe in nurturing students through experiential learning that shapes their understanding of the world around them.
