In its continued commitment to environmental sustainability and green living, State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt inaugurated a One-Week Tree Plantation Drive beginning Monday. The school every year put forwards the best possible way to nurture environment through plantation drive for a week.The drive aims to instill a sense of ecological responsibility in students, staff, and the wider community.The event was inaugurated by Dr. Pooja Kapoor, President of Rotary Club, Jalandhar West, who was joined by other eminent Rotarians and prestigious IMA members, marking the beginning of this green initiative. The occasion was graced by Dr. Narotam Singh, President, and Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Vice President along with Mr. Anmol Singh, Managing Director, and Mrs. Tanasha Anmol Singh, Joint Managing Director of the Group of State Public Schools. Their visionary leadership continues to strengthen the school’s mission of holistic education. Mrs. Savina Bahl, Principal, and Mrs. Gagandeep Kaur Khaira, Vice Principal, appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and the collective efforts of the staff in making the event impactful and memorable. The event commenced with a heartfelt pledge led by student Prisha, in which the entire school community vowed to protect and preserve the environment, both in thought and action.The highlight of the inaugural ceremony was a pledge taken collectively by students, teachers, and guests to plant 500 saplings including Neem, Mango, Sheesham trees throughout the week. On the first day itself, over 150 saplings were planted at various locations in and around the school campus. These included flowering plants, shade trees, and oxygen-rich species selected for their environmental benefits.In a heartwarming display of community involvement, students and parents also contributed by donating plants for the campaign, making it a joint effort in nurturing green spaces.
The President, Dr. Narotam Singh , the Vice President Dr Gagandeep Kaur along with the Principal Mrs Savina Bahl and Vice Principal Mrs Gagandeep Kaur Khaira showed firm believe that education is not complete without instilling a deep respect for nature. Through events like these, we aim to empower our students to become responsible stewards of the planet, leading by example and leaving behind a legacy of green change.
