Educational Activities on Earth Day
“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the Earth.”
On the precious and preserving day of Earth Day, State Public School, Jalandhar Cantt. organised various engaging and educational activities across all grade levels to instill awareness and responsibility towards environmental conservation.
The day began with a majestic special morning assembly conducted by students of classes 9 to 12. The assembly included a heartfelt poem, an impactful speech, and a thought-provoking play, all centered around the theme of the 3 R’s — Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle — highlighting the importance of sustainable living.
Students from Prep to Class 2 enthusiastically participated in a 'Waste Segregation' activity, learning how to differentiate and dispose of waste properly. Classes 3 and 4 explored the significance of renewable resources through an activity focused on rainwater harvesting and solar energy. Class 5 students were introduced to the concept of organic farming and its increasing relevance in modern life. Class 6 took part in a plantation drive within the school campus, actively contributing to a greener environment. Meanwhile, students of Classes 7 and 8 showcased their creativity and awareness through a slogan-making competition, crafting powerful messages to promote environmental consciousness.
Students at every level showed their marvelous involvement and felt proud to contribute their task in preserving our mother Earth.
The President, Dr. Narotam Singh, Vice-President, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, and Principal, Mrs. Savina Bahl, showed their concern about this growing issue and appreciated the efforts put up by the students to save and preserve the blue planet.
